Friday is our thrift store shopping day. This Saturday we had to go out of town, so we thrifted and yard sale-d in a different town than usual. Boy howdy! Check out this haul!
Happy Pink Saturday to everyone! I'm out of town this weekend but I didn't want to miss one, so here are my offerings.....
My new ironing board cover :-)
and a jar of some beautiful "sea glass" leftover from my niece's baby shower. It's not really from the sea, was purchased at Michael's, but I couldn't bear to see it thrown away! Maybe someday I will figure out something cool to do with it! Any suggestions?
Well, it's Thursday again! Time for Vintage Thingies Thursday hosted by our very own Confessions of an Apron Queen! So here is my contribution. Another mystery!! Who can tell me what THIS one is? Last Thursday y'all said some kind of tasting spoon. I'm eager to see what you thing this little beauty is! I've seen them before, now I have one. Can't wait to hear what you have to say!!!
Cotton pillowcases, a cotton sheet, a chinois complete with wooden pestle, a cute Glasbake dish, a cookie press with red handle, a bunch of hankies, some unused with label attached, and Fiesta ware paper towel holder! All but the pillowcases, sheet and book will go in my Etsy store soon!
This is my favorite! A killer cute 100% cotton sheet! Hmmm... quilt backing? nightie?
...all dressed up to go out among 'em! (You can't see the ponytail. His hair is longer than mine.)
We had tickets to go to the Ghost Tree Invitational Dinner on the Range, but I decided to bow out and let him go be with his cronies at Gusto Magazine. 16 local chefs and tons of West Coast wineries offered wonderful fare and MDH said the food was extraordinary!! He took 170 pictures, but I'll just show you some highlights.
That's just a tiny fraction of the food he said was there. Know what I had for dinner?
This darling suitcase complete with key..for 4.99 at Goodwill. I LOVE the color! Update: Someone left a comment and said it reminded her of the inside of a coffin! I thought so as well!)
and some pretty cotton fabric. 5 1/2 yards of the flowered and 3 1/2 yards of the aqua polka dot...for 4.00 :-)
and, boy howdy! do I want to win this one!! it's over at Jane's Fabric and Quilts and she's giving away FAT QUARTERS!! I am stoked! I've been collecting and collecting enough to do a scrap quilt and I could sure use these goodies!!
During.. after... Still need to turn the towel on the curtain rod into a curtain! I plan to cut in down the middle of the length, stitch the ends together to make it long and put in a casing. Instant gathered valance!! (It was very bright in there, so flash didn't go off)
We painted over old wood paneling, so we still need to go over some of the seams with filler and more paint, but it sure looks better!
I'm a mother to one awesome young woman, ,grandma to four sweet girls and one ornery boy, AND I'm now a GREAT gramma! I live to garden, love to sew and craft. I enjoy nothing better than to kick back with a good book!
