Bathroom facelift...

We live in a really old house, and nothing much has been done to it for a lot of years. We decided recently to do some face-lifting, so we started on the bathroom. It's amazing what just painting all of the trim and changing out the fixtures can do!

We started with this...

and went to this....

The cabinets looked like this...

NOW, they look like this...

Nice and clean!

We have a cabinet over the toilet that had doors and stored all of this...

We left the doors off and now it looks like this!

and stores this!

The shelves aren't completely arranged yet, as I have a few more lovelies coming from eBay, but you get the idea!! Much much nicer!!!

a meme....

Ok, this is just downright hilarious!! I discovered this meme at Allsorts. You just need to do a Google search of "unfortuately, ________" , adding your name in the blank. Make sure you enclose with quotation marks. I had to use my first name to get any hits, because there are too few folk witht the name Llyn. Here are some examples:

Unfortunately, Lori's health remains delicate due to the very harsh conditions she endured during the early years of her incarceration. ...

Unfortunately, Lori is still struggling with headaches during the day.

Unfortunately, Lori
fell for Mark's deceptions, and he plucked her up out of her world, and wove her within his complex web of lies. ...

Unfortunately, Lori paid the ultimate price. I'm very sorry for that and I am happy Mr. DeKleine was convicted.

Unfortunately, Lori
’s documentary on ozone and environmental issues has deadly fallout.

Unfortunately, Lori’s jet-setting big-city life isn’t what she dreamed it would be.

Unfortunately, Lori had turned to alcohol and marijuana to escape the emotional pain she carried.

Unfortunately, Lori
cannot overpower the swarm of burly bodyguards surrounding the mobster, in spite of her formidable fighting prowess.

Unfortunately, Lori
is a little more skewered.

Unfortunately Lori passed away in October 2005 leaving a huge loss in the schnauzer community.

I'm cracking up here. These are all legit!! And there were many more!!

It's time again for Pink Saturday!!! Beverly at How Sweet the Sound has been hostessing this PINK fun-ness for quite some time now, and the participant list just keep on growing!! This week there are 162!!! Please try to visit as many as you can and leave a comment to show your appreciation of their Pink goodies!!

My contribution for this week is a photo of my new little collection of vintage perfume bottles. Yes, I know, I don't need another thing to collect, but I needed something for the new shelf in our almost completed, face-lifted bathroom. Found on eBay for a song :-)

That's all I have for my personal pinkness, but, once again, I thought I would share a few PINK goodies that I found on eBay that you might enjoy seeing.

I may just have to buy these PINK ROSE BOOTS. Yes, I can wear a kids size 3 :-) See the listing here.
EDIT: I bid on the boots! Wish me luck!!

RE-EDIT: I won! I won! I won!!
I'll be sure to post a picture when they come!!!

When was the last time you saw a PINK PHONE? I've seen several pink princess phones, but not one of these! Sweet! See the listing here.

And last but not least, these awesome vintage Hazel Atlas PINK CUPS!! I have these same cups in turquoise for my red and turquoise kitchen, but I love these as well!!! What a luscious color!!!! Find the listing here.

Have a great PINK SATURDAY everyone!! Oh, and Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Pay it Forward

Patty at Pip Stitch is participating in a PAY IT FORWARD, so I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon by leaving her a comment. She will be sending out a little handmade giftie to the first three comment's on her post! Then those three will do the same for three more and it grows exponentially!

Would you like to play??? I will send a little handmade giftie to the first three people who leave a comment here. Participation means you then agree to Pay It Forward to the first three commenters on YOUR post. Patty says, " The goodies you send do not have to be elaborate or expensive. The only rules are that it's handmade by you and must be sent out within the next year."

So comment away!!!

You gotta love Goodwill...

I know they are pretty high priced on some things, but once in awhile i find a treasure. A couple of days ago I posted about finding Babs Bovine's long lost little sister, Betty. Well, today I found another long lost sibling, but I'm in a quandry and we need your help!!!

Am I a boy or a girl?????

"I have horns...Babs and Betty don't. But, girl cows have horns sometimes! I'm wearing pants, but I have a lovely, poufy flowered top on!! I have long eyelashes and pink lips, but I'm wearing a blue bandana! I'm so confused!!! Can you all help??? Please leave us a comment so I can get a name soon!!!

What does your name say about you?

From "Your Name's Hidden Meaning"

"You are well rounded, with a complete perspective on life.
"You are solid and dependable. You are loyal, and people can count on you.
At times, you can be a bit too serious. You tend to put too much pressure on yourself.

You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something.
You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense.
You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.
You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.
You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start."

Now, mind you, Llyn is my middle name. I tried it with Llyn and it didn't fit at all. So, I used my first name, and it fits to a T! Try it!

Pink Pink Pink Saturday!!

Beverly at How Sweet the Sound hosts this amazing event every Saturday! If you want to know what it's about, visit her blog and there you'll find a list of participants. This week there are 144!!! Every week we add several Pinkies to the list!! Visit their blogs and enjoy the PINKNESS!

My contribution for this week is the lovely vintage, throw-size quilt I found on Ebay for a song. It will be for the foot of the guest bed. For now it's packed away until we finish the facelift on the room. We're going to attempt to paint over some existing (yucky) paneling, so it may be awhile. I will be sure to have before and after photos just like when we re-did the laundry room. Isn't this the sweetest quilt? I love the pink ruffled binding and the tiny little roses!!!

I've found myself addicted to purchasing 100% cotton sheets at thrift stores, in hopes of using them for quilt backings. I found this lovely rose print at Goodwill last week. Soft as a babies bottom! Don't you love the pink rosebuds??

Have a wonderful Pink Saturday y'all, and don't forget to visit the other Pinkies!
