Patty boo-ed me!

I've been boo-ed by Patty at Pip Stitch!! How fun!!! I love Halloween!

Here are the instructions:

"Here is how the Blogging Boo will go. Go to as many friends as you want and tell them they've been "B00-ED." Have them link back to your blog to pick up their Halloween Treat (picture) and tell them to Boo their friends. (Then put the picture in your side bar so everyone knows that you've already been "boo-ed and to send the picture to someone else.) Have a great Halloween everyone."

I took the Classic Dames Test, and this is who I am...

Barbara Stanwyck

You're a tough dame, a bit of a spitfire, and you can even be a little dangerous, but you do it with such flair that almost all is forgiven (and even when it's not, you're still the most interesting woman in the room). You can be witty and charming, all right, but you have a tough streak that keeps you focused and sometimes deadly. You've had quite a climb to get where you are, but you're a hard worker and you mostly deserve all you get...and then some. You might end up destroying everything around you, but you must admit...you've got style. Your leading men include Henry Fonda, Fred MacMurray, and when you forget yourself, Gary Cooper.

Eureka!

I seem to have this pink/aqua-turquoise theme going on in my craft studio. See for yourself...

The main reason I love this studio is the HUGE South and West facing windows. Lot's of great light.

I've been trying to figure out for a LONG time (we've been here nearly 12 years), just how to put some color at the windows without blocking all that lovely light. Enter my new Etsy store where I am destashing my fabric. I was digging today for some more to list, and LO! and Behold! Look what I unearthed!

It's a lovely linen/cotton blend that I got for $1 a yard when I was Operations Manager at JoAnn Fabrics! It has a lovely border along one selvedge and with a nice fat hem and casing, it'll be the perfect length and width for 4 narrow panels to hang along the outside edges of the windows! The good thing is that the windows have cornice boxes, so they will hide they funky way I'm going to have to hang them! Talk about serendipity!!! Not that I need another project or anything :-)

Some fall color...

Took these photos yesterday afternoon when the light was 'just right'. Beautiful!

A bit of contrast...

Just for gigglies...Crowman got a fancy store-bought new hat!

Music...

I've been fooling around a little at Playlist.com. It's amazing the selection of music they have! I've made one, and was considering putting it on my blog, but not before I get feedback from y'all. Do you like to go to a site and find music playing? (My speakers are usually off, so I don't hear it). There is the option of either auto-play, which starts it when you click on the site, or site visitor can turn it on themselves. Keep in mind that I like fairly sedate music most of the time, so there wouldn't be any Headbanger's Ball playing! Let me know!

Pink Saturday!

Saturday rolls around pretty quickly these days. The older I get the faster time goes by! Here's some pink goodness for you!

This is a little pink and turquoise wrist pincushion that I picked up the other day. I LOVE it!! And don't you just love how my pins match?

This is some darling little bias tape with a crochet edge that I'm saving for something special. Don't know what yet, but isn't it cute??

Every week Beverly sends out an email reminding us of Pink Saturday. This time she mentioned that very few participants were being 'visited'. I have to admit that I'm guilty of not getting around to many of you, and I apologize for that. So many of you have left nice comments on my posts, and I feel badly that I'm not always able to reciprocate. I will try harder. In the meantime, click on the pretty pink girlie below to take you to see more pink goodness!

An award...

Patty at Pip Stitch passed on this nice award to me! Thanks Patty!! Now I need to pass it on to six more blog folk, but I have to confess, I haven't been 'visiting' much lately, so I can't come up with 6!! Oh, no! So sorry! I will edit this post if I find more. For now, here are my five:

#1 Mrs RGS at Quirky Cottage had some FABULOUS fall decos at her retirement party.

#2 Teresa at Plum Water Cottage has a great header and some deco pix.

#3 The Fairy Glade has some great Halloween projects!

#4 AND #5 Found a new blog buddy! Linnea has two blogs, so I'm giving the award to her TWICE! Visit Neabear and B-Daddy's Nest and Neabear's Sewing and Craft Mess for lot's of Fall and Halloween goodness!

More decos...

Great birdhouse I got on Ebay last year!

On the back porch bench...

And this smilin' fellow greets you at the door :-)

Just can't seem to get into the swing of the holidays yet. This is the time of year that I start to really miss my daughter and grandkids. Halloween dress-up was always so fun when they were here, and Christmas! Let's not go there. Families should NOT be separated by thousands of miles. I'm all for having a compound with the whole tribe!

Ah, Autumn....

My goldfinches have finally arrived, just in time for them to start their migration. I put out two thistle 'socks' and they are loaded nearly all day long! It was impossible to get a good photo as the minute I step to the window, they fly away! This is the best I could do. They are all in their dull fall plumage, but earlier in the season they are a pretty yellow.

Basil kitty sure likes to be out in the yard on these cool, sunny days! I call him my 'container kitty', 'cuz if he can get in it, he will!

I've been trying to get a little decorating done, but it's slow going. Need to go out to the garden and cut some corn stalks. Here are a couple of my favorite fall cuties.

I'll be sure to share more once I get it all out and displayed!
