Merry Christmas and a 200th Post Giveaway!!

Well, it's my 200th post and I'd like to begin with a merry Christmas to you all!! It's 7 am and hubby is still in bed, and the animals are patiently waiting to open their prezzies!

Violet's not getting far from the stash!! She LOVES to open gifts!

and little Bailey has to periodically 'snout' every one, I guess to make sure they are still there!

We have a ton of snow and the birds are out in force gobbling up every bit of food they can to sustain them through the bitter cold days and nights.

(taken just after dawn this am)

Isn't this flicker beautiful??? He's on the feeder every morning and evening. There is also a pretty little woodpecker who comes everyday, but I haven't been able to snap his picture yet.

NOW, on to the GIVEAWAY!! I've been trying to come up with something special, so here goes.

Item #1: The best book I have read this year...

My personal copy, read and loved. You won't be disappointed with this lovely memoir.

Item #2: A hand stitched (by me) plastic bag dispenser made from a very pretty vintage tea towel! Keep those bags contained!

Item #3: a vintage cake decorating set! Very cute!!

Just leave me a comment, and on January 1st, I will choose a random number and send these goodies to the lucky winner! Tell all your bloggy friends as well to come visit and comment!

Have a beautiful Christmas day!!!

  1. Ooooh, you should definitely pick me! ;o) I didn't let myself buy a very similar cake decorating set at a yard sale this summer b/c it was a whopping $2 (I have standards to maintain, you know) even though I'd love to have one. And as a librarian you know I love to read a book that's pre-loved. AND I adore Corgi's!

Thanks for stopping by my blog, and have a wonderfully festive day!

  3. Merry Christmas, and congratulations!

I wish our flickers would stick to the feeder - I often wake up to them pounding on the side of our (log) house.

  5. Merry Christmas! I hope you have an awesome holiday. Love theFlicker, we only have them once a year, they drop in for a few days. I love bird watching and seeing the travelers come through. Mostly we just have sparrows and various finshes. The flicker is a treat.

  10. Merry Christmas...1 day late. Just found you on the Fresh Vintage blog, and just can't ignore a give-away of any sort. Snow looks lovely...but after 22 years in New England I'm quite happy with our erratic Florida weather! So, please include me in your give-away, and congrats on your 200th post!! *elaine*

  11. Merry day after-Christmas!! I read Little Heathens this year too, wasn't it splendid! I wrote her a letter too, to let her know that not ALL youngsters have no idea about gardening and home cooking and delivering calves and mowing hay and sewing your own clothes. There are still healthy communities of us in small towns across the county!

  13. Very neat ideas for a giveaway..thanks for the chance to participate!

I was just looking at the pics of your pets opening their presents and saw that you have a cat named Basil. We had a dear big old gray tabby boy named Basil, who unfortunately passed away about three years ago. Until I saw your kitty, I had not "met" any other Basils in the kitty world. :) He looks like a sweet boy.

  14. I LOVE the wooden candles you have pictured a couple of posts ago. And the lamp shade! What a disappointment.

You are probably much more familiar with snow than we are. We've had it around for over a week now and everyone is tired of it.

    What a fun give-away you've arranged. Isn't blogging wonderful?

  15. "Little Heathens" is a wonderful book; my husband's family's roots are here in the rural Midwest and so much of it was an echo of my in-laws' reminiscences. Welcome to blogland!
