Poor Flicker...

Do any of you know what might be wrong with this poor Flicker? He's been on the tree puffed up with his head under his wing for hours!

  1. How cold is it where you are? He could be huddled for warmth. That is a bird's sleeping position. Maybe he smacked into a window and is trying to recover from the shock of it. Let us know if he's still there tomorrow. I was watching one on my aunt's back deck earlier today. I love these huge colorful birds.

  2. Oh, I hate to say it but usually this is their behavior just before they expire. I hope I'm wrong. Let us know if it wakes up and flies away.

  4. Goodness, I have no idea, and I don't even know what a flicker is but my guess is she may be ill. What the heck do I know though. In Washington we have Canadian geese, hummingbirds and robins and white swans...not sure what in the world a FLICKER is...smile!
