Saw this lovely little purse on eBay, and I'm considering bidding on it :-)

This a new little dresser scarf. The trim is the perfect shade of pink!!

How sweet is this little sewing kit? Look at the tiny little pink scissors! I love it! It stays in my travel bag..like we do much traveling LOL! But. if we do, I'm prepared!



and last, but not least, I'll leave you with my sentiment for today. "Best Wishes" for a very PINK weekend!! I'm off to the thrift stores in a bit to see what goodies I can find for Monday's "Today's Thrifty Treasures"!

Belated Mother's Day

I know that yesterday was Mother's Day, but I just came across these old photos that I thought I would share.

My mom's HS graduation photo..

Patricia Ann Riley. Would have been around 1948, I believe. Love the rooster scatter pins on her sweater!


My grandmother.....

Edith Irene (Holmes) Riley. Taken in the 40's sometime, I'm sure. She passed away several years ago. We called her Nannie. She was a statuesque lady of 5' 8"in her younger years, but oteoperosis did it's damage and prior to her death she was about 5" or so. Yes, I take my calcium :-)


This is my favorite...

Mom, Nannie and Grandma Holmes (May Elizabeth), my great-grandmother, at the beach around 1945. Beautiful women all, and I'm proud of where I come from.

On May Day I won an awesome giveaway from Apron Memories !! Well, the UPS guy just brought me a box!! Inside was:

The thistle socks hadn't been hung up but an hour when I spied this little guy. They're here!! Now I feel like it's spring!!!

Today's Thrifty Treasures

It's Monday again, and here are my thrifty finds for this week. Click on the Southern Hospitality button and check out other thrifty gals and their treasures!


I found a lamp to go with the shade I found last week. Here's the lam turned on...



Here it is turned off.



This green shade was on the new lamp, and it fits perfectly on the milk glass lamp I found last week but forgot to post.



My best find was this awesome wicker chair. It's in great shabby condition and the perfect shade of old aqua!!

Found these new shoes. They are just like the ones I found in this post!



Another sweet tiny birdhouse...



And an awesome Martex 100% cotton sheet in a lovely shabby rose print. This will make a lovely house dress don't ya think??



I adore these sweet little plates..


I also found this neat iron deco thingie, painted a heavenly pink. It is missing two leaves, where the x's are, but we have them and just need to fasten them back on. Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet!

Thrify Treasures Monday

Thrifty Treasures Monday is here!

We had an awesome thriftin' and junkin' weekend. Saturday we hit all the stores in town, then yesterday we went to a nearby town to a large thrift store sponsored by the local Senior Center.

Here is my treasure trove....

3 yards of sweet cotton fabric on the left, to add to my quilt fabric stash, and a set of 100% cotton sheets on the right. Love the print!

Another Pyrex custard cup, 2 vintage cookbooks, and a turquoise oval Pyrex casserole that will go into service in my craft room.

Some pretty pink fabric, an awesome ironstone plate, and padded hangers. I never seem to have enough of these!

A really cute birdhouse hanging thingie to add to my collection.

A large leather tote bag by Banana Republic in nearly new condition.

Vintage books. One of my passions.

Another dressed up cow to add to THIS collection.

Two pretty rose prints for the master bath, a to die for lampshade, and a sweet wooden bunny with pink bow.

And all these lovely little items!

We stopped at a mom and pop hamburger stand on the way out of town, and this is what greeted us in the parking lot.....

"grrrrrr...I'm guardin' my Daddies pick-'em-up truck, and I'm dang serious about it!!" LOL!!!
